History of Kratos Kratos is a Greek warrior in the service of the Greek gods of Olympus. It is revealed in a series of flashblacks that Kratos was a military captain in the army of Sparta. A fierce warrior, who led his army through many victories, until he encounters a horde of invading barbarians. The Spartan is overwhelmed by the sheer number of enemies, and is about to be killed by the Barbarian King, when, in a moment of desperation, he cries out for God of War, Ares, and vowing to have a life of servitude to Ares if that deliver him from death and give him power to wipe out the enemies. Ares hears Kratos' prayer, and delivering the Blades of Chaos (a pair of blades attached to chains, forged deep in Tartarus) to his new servant. Kratos then returns to confront the Barbarian King and decapta your enemy. A victorious Kratos then triumphs in wars throughout Greece, and eventually, while leading an attack on a village occupied by worshipers of Athena. Ares tricks Kratos by placing his daughter and his wife in the village, whom Kratos accidentally kills. Although Ares Kratos thought that doing this would become a perfect warrior, this, in turn, renounces his servitude to Ares. The oracle of the now destroyed village curses Kratos, and attaches the ashes of his dead family on your skin, causing your skin to become white. Now known as the "Ghost of Sparta", Kratos is plagued by nightmares of his horrible deed and commits to ten years of servitude to the other gods of Olympus. Finally, tired of his servitude, Kratos summons Athena, who says that if he Kratos perform a final task - the murder of Ares - he will be forgiven for the murder of his family. Athena then assigns the task to Kratos to kill Ares because Zeus had forbidden intrusion divine. Kratos is guided by the goddess Athena to the city of Athens, which is being besieged by slaves from Ares. Kratos opens the way to battling the oracle of Athens, but not before he had an encounter with a stranger gravedigger, which encourages Kratos to continue his task. Finding the oracle, Kratos discovers that the only way to kill Ares is locating and using Pandora's Box, a legendary artifact that gives a mortal powers to kill a god. After crossing the Desert of Lost Souls, Kratos summons the Titan Cronos. Cronos has attached the Temple of Pandora on his back: a punishment imposed by Zeus to Kronos in the Great War. Kratos climbs the temple for three days before reaching the entrance, and enter overcomes a series of deadly traps and an army of monsters. Kratos eventually finds Pandora's Box, but when trying to get out of the Temple with the artifact he is murdered by Ares, who is sure that his former servant was successful. While a group of harpies leads to Box to Ares, Kratos is falling in Hades (Underworld and Underworld, hell the Greeks). Kratos, however, struggle to get out of the underworld, and with the help of the mysterious gravedigger, who mentions that Athena is not the only god watching over him, escapes and returns to Athens. To retrieve Pandora's Box from Ares, Kratos opens and uses his power to take the powers of a god. Despite the best efforts of Kratos Ares to end, both physically and mentally, including being stripped of the Blades of Chaos, lost the Divine Powers, and fight a horde of clones and lose his family again, Kratos survives and kills his enemy with legendary Blade of the Gods. The city of Athens is saved, and despite the goddess Athena say that their sins were forgiven, she informs him that his nightmares will never cease. Kratos then attempts to commit suicide by throwing themselves in the Aegean, but Athena intervenes, saying that it would not fit Kratos taking his own life, for death of Ares would have been a great act. She then takes him back to Mount Olympus. As a reward for his services to the gods, Athena gives you their blades and Kratos becomes the new God of War. |
